Hi everyone!
At the ICPC World Finals in Astana, there's an Alumni Zone, and I've been invited there on September 18th from 16:30 to 17:00 (Astana time/UTC+5).
I suggest we hold a push-up challenge during this time! I'm ready to participate and would be happy to see other participants. Let's do some push-ups! Are you ready?
I'll give a Codeforces t-shirt to the winner. If this isn't your kind of sport and you're only into competitive programming, feel free to drop by to cheer and have fun.
See you there!
UPD 1: Thanks to BambooTree for the idea! I'm planning to stream (instagram live) from my Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/mikemirzayanov/
UPD 2: People came up to me and asked about the format. I think we'll do it this way: we'll do sets of 25 push-ups. Gradually, people will start dropping out. Whoever does the most total push-ups will be the winner! So to speak, they'll hold the title of World Push-up Champion according to the ICPC World Finals version :-)
UPD 3: Instagram Live: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DADroPMMkwY/?igsh=MTlwM3N1aDlmYnZx
UPD 4: Thanks for taking part! Good luck on the ICPC Finals!
I'm assuming there's no online participation? :)
I hope for a virtual participation.
We want a live stream for it ! :D
Maybe it is a good idea for my Instagram :-)
I didn't know you are on Instagram :D ! Excited !!
Man where were you in the IOI, would've been nice to see you
Lets goo
why don't you as a representative of codeforces write to open ai, that they disable their model when contests are going on here.
i think it would be great, write to them as they or their employees are/were coders at a time, they would understand.
What about the millions of other users of OpenAI?
Do you buy a new TV if your remote is broken ? No right ? The problem is not OpenAI, problem are the people who use AI instead of their brain for CP.
That's so stupid.
I like exercising so I might go.
duel me, MikeMirzayanov.
I will be there to support.

Good Luck Everyone
And the Hat cup!

dorijanlendvaj will win pushCup2024
as a tester,i tried my best but only did 20 push-ups :)
MikeMirzayanov how can you only hold a push up challenge? It is important to do balance and work opposing muscles, so there should also be a pull up challenge
Congrats Mike for winning
Thanks!
I am curious how many push ups you did ?
There were multiple takes, 25 pushups each. If I recall correctly, Mike has done 8 takes and the finalist has stopped in the middle of 8th. Mike is really good, hats off to him, but the guy who lost to him in the final used a more difficult technique to execute with legs together and hands placed really narrow. Normally, if I follow such technique I have ~15-20% less repeats, so this guy was extremely good. But for such competitions Mike's technique is the best one.
Dear Mike, please hold a similar contest for segment trees.
Mike knew he would win.
Mike, since you've won, will you give a Codeforces t-shirt to yourself, as you promised?
Obviously Mike won, he has the DAD strength.
Who took a silver and a bronze in this contest?
