About ICPC Camp

Contests

We have planned ICPC style contests (5 hours, with difficulties corresponding to Indian regionals and higher) over the next 8+ weeks. Each contest will be held on a Sunday. These contests offer you a valuable opportunity to practice and compete against the best ICPC teams across India. These contests will be hosted on a Codeforces group, with further instructions to join sent via email to all participants. Using our scripts, we’ll ensure that no participating team has previously given any of the contests. You can find more details about these scripts at the end of the blog.

Educational Sessions

Learn advanced topics from educational sessions held by some of the best competitive programmers in India, including Masters, Grandmasters and ICPC World Finalists.

Prizes!

We are happy to announce that Indian ICPC Camp 2024 is sponsored by Databricks. Teams with good performances across the contests in the camp will receive exciting prizes.

Who can participate?

We welcome everyone to participate in Indian ICPC Camp 2024, however only teams which have members from Indian colleges and universities(all members currently studying in the same institute) are eligible for prizes. Note that each person can participate from at most 1 team. We encourage you to participate even if you are a fresher and have just started learning programming. There is nothing to lose by participating and it is a very good learning opportunity!

ICPC Camp 2023

The first Indian ICPC Camp was held last year amongst a few top Indian colleges. It was a massive success with over 1400 teams from more than 10 top colleges across India participating. 9 of the 11 teams that qualified to ICPC 2023-24 World Finals from India participated in Indian ICPC Camp 2023. This year, we are excited to make the camp open to All India (and unofficially to everyone), and are expecting a much greater participation.

Contest Sources

Problem setting is a long and hard task, and coming up with 8 ICPC Regional level contests in such a short amount of time isn't feasible. Therefore, the contests in ICPC Camp will be past ACM-ICPC Contests at Regional level or higher, taken from Codeforces Gym (or other available sources), decided by the host college. To encourage fair play, the host college will change the problem statements and sample testcases for all problems in the contests so that it will be much harder to find which contest we are using. We will link to the original source after each contest.

ICPC Camp Scripts

We’ve developed a streamlined interface with Google Sheets that integrates seamlessly with Google Forms. This setup allows us to efficiently gather and manage all the necessary information using the response link from the form. Our suite of scripts includes tools to identify contests with no team entries, extract participants' email addresses, and an ELO calculator based on contest performance to determine team ratings throughout the camp. Additionally, we have scripts to display final standings after each contest and to determine the top teams once the camp concludes. We’ve also incorporated a script to generate the feed for simulating the "unfreeze" effect seen in ICPC contests.

All relevant scripts are available in this repository, which we will continue to update throughout the camp. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to akcube. This camp would not have been possible without his invaluable contributions, as he was responsible for organizing the Indian ICPC Camp 2023—and all this amazing code! Special thanks to codelegend for cfutils.

We would also like to thank Programming Club IIT Kanpur for helping us with outreach and securing sponsorships.
