Too few div1+2

Div1+2 are too few compared to div2/3/4. I don't want to participate unrated contests. Can div1+2 be more? Can orange be rated in div2?

Div2 contests were originally rated for Experts, then they found that it's challenging for CMs as well, so they made CMs rated for division 2. I think what we should do is not infinitely extend the rated range of division 2, but instead preserve the harder problems for div. (1 + 2) contests.

In many recent contests, the last problem is often challenging even for grandmasters (and most official solves come from alts). I think these problems should be in div. (1 + 2) contests instead of being "wasted" in div. 2, although I don't know how the system really works so I have no idea whether the harder problems could be proposed for other rounds individually or not.

    You have a point. But if rating beyond 2200 can only participate 2 or 3 rated rounds a month, they will register more accounts to enter more rated rounds. It feel different between rated and unrated rounds.

    The standards for div1+2 rounds and div2 rounds are different. Not all hard problems in div.2 can go in div. 1. Problems that are deemed standard for div.1 participants may be educational in a div.2 round.

      I can see where it comes from, but to be honest I don't think these Div. 2-only F problems were not really that standard compared to F's in Div. 1 + Div. 2 rounds. I personally see no issue having them in Div. 1 rounds, and it's probably more of an issue of having too few coordinators who can coordinate Div. 1 rounds.

On a related note, what happened to the div1-only round? Why is every round that is rated for div1 a combined round? I get that some of them are sponsored, but what about the non-sponsored ones?

From what I talked with coordinators, it seems like the main reason there aren't more div1s is that they're harder to do, which makes sense since the stakes are higher and the problems are harder.

I think, that one of the main reasons is the creation of div 1 E (the last problem). I can create problems up to ~$$$2800$$$, but have no idea, how to create $$$3500$$$.
