In a 4-hour contest (Google Code Jam 2018 Final), he had 0 points for 3 hours and 45 minutes, and was at the bottom of the rank list.
But in the last 15 minutes something happened that he took the second position at once. How?
He was trying to target the most difficult problem and the 15th, I repeat, 15th submission was accepted as it was accepted and the Legend came up next to the tourist !
Risk is one such thing, which if missed is a big loss, but if taken, unimaginable results are at hand. But that risk must be calculated, time and energy must be invested behind it, there must be a promise not to give up, and there must be a mindset to accept the results...
Contests can have last-minute twists as if it is simulating real life.
Errichto is addressed as "Sir" by many in the coding community. He truly deserves the title "Sir".
One day I tried D in an ARC in the whole contest and I solved it in 2h15mins but sadly the contest lasts for 2h
And I looked at the score of each problem and realized that I would have a higher score if I tried A and B in the whole contest and just playing video games after I had solved them
But it doesn't matter as I have chose unrated xD
What an inspiring story...
who else wants him back to competitive programming?
What a comeback Story!!!
why you always say sir sir sir
And i give up after 1 or 2 submissions ;(
In Dhaka WFs, my team had 0 ACs until the 2:20 hrs mark. We ended up becoming Asia West Champions by the 4:40-hour mark.
It was not because we had some strategy or taking some risks, but solely because of our skill issue. :)
Had Errichto been the coach for Harbour.Space University — Barcelona Campus, rk4 in 47th world final ? I followed the livestream and saw him on stage when they got honored.
