It has happened several times to me that I can't solve a problem in the contest but right after it finishes I come up with the solution.

I'm not worried about being unable to solve all the problems in Div.2 contest, not even some Div.3's, I'm aware I'm simply not good enough (yet?). But not being able to solve in-contest some problems that you can solve with a little more time hits differently.

It's another skill issue, just the fact that it takes me too much time to solve the other problems I manage during the contest.

Any advice on how to stop this from happening?

It seems to me that you just don't practice enough.

This kinda situation is quite normal , sometimes happens with me. Many times I came up with the solution after the contest ended . I didn't perform well in last 2 official contest as couldn't solve the problem C but an hour after the contest I figured out the solution. It happens and it is too early to judge that it is something bad as you have solved only few problems and I think give as many contests as you can and solved problems around your current rating to increase your speed I am also doing the same .

Start edging prior to the contest. Then, once you are experienced, continue edging throughout the contest.

try practicing solving problems under time constraints.Think before you start to implement. Learn to be relaxed yet focused during contests.
