As we approach the end of another year, I believe it's the perfect time to reflect on our achievements, lessons learned, and set our sights on new goals for the upcoming one.
Looking back at 2023, each one of us has made significant progress and overcome obstacles in our journey, there were moments of triumph that will forever be etched in our memories, and other times when we stumbled, faced setbacks, and encountered failure. It was a year full of pride, motivation, frustration and hard work.
2024 holds immense potential for further growth and success. It's a blank canvas waiting for us to paint our dreams and set new targets. I'm thrilled to read about your accomplishments and dreams for 2024. Wishing you all a fantastic end to 2023 and a remarkable start to 2024!
Personally, my lifelong dream has been to qualify for IOI during my 11th grade. However, as 2023 approached, it seemed like an unrealistic goal. I was a just cyan with a series of disappointments in national contests.
With only four months left until our TST, I realized that I needed to make a change. That's when I committed myself to take my training more seriously. I became more disciplined and organized with my training schedule and most importantly, I understood that if I didn't make every second count, I would be faced with yet another failure. It was a constant reminder to stay focused and give my absolute best in every training session and contest. And ll my efforts paid off in the end! I achieved the 3rd place in the TST, coming just 2 points away of the second place. Moreover, I managed to reach CM right after our TST ended.
Although I didn't manage to secure a medal at IOI 2023, the experience was invaluable. I learned a lot from the experience and had the opportunity to meet some great individuals. Fortunately, I still have another chance ahead of me, and I'm determined to make it count.
Your progress seems pretty amazing. I was also at a similar level at the beginning of 2023. What was your math background before cp?
I didn't have any math / programming background before I started doing cp.
How did you train? Do you have any specific problemset that you followed or any resources that helped you to become a CM?
Its not math, its logical deduction, planning things ahead, formalizing each step, solving each step of problem with specific goal in mind,IMO each step of problem they do it with a specific goal in mind, like getting rid of same variable, adding +1,-1, making that coefficicent of 1 in different forms, using formuales or results in reverse direction like although it really doesn't make sense to me what makes them to do.If you already have these traits then its a cake walk
Inspiring, Thanks!
Inspiring <3, I think you will CRUSH IT in 2024
Congrats on reaching Master!
As for my achievements, I became negative this year :D
Negative is the best rating ever
Factos
Thank you!
Well people with negative rating are the fewest on codeforces right? :D

If there is anybody who should talk about 2023 hardwork and achievements ,It is you.
I still remember that when 2023 started, we were talking about possible IOI candidates for this year in Syria , a lot of names were said but no one ever thought about you.
You started to work the right way , everyone noticed your rating increasing so fast , and then your amazing TST , you became not only one of the national team tops , but one of the best people in Syria .
I am really proud I have a friend like you , and I hope your 2024 would be even better , full of medals and achievements <3
That's very kind of you!
I hope you too can make your dreams come and make 2024 your best year yet!
gnimraf
need to be more disciplined
I don’t know about you, but I didn’t like this year. For the first time in my entire life, someone close to me died. This made me very sad.
But there are also successes: I became a pupil but fell again. I hope in today's competition I will become a pupil.
I was always afraid of graphs and avoided the task on them, but this year I overcame my fear and began to study them.
I expect that next year I will become a specialist or higher, study graph theory to the end, dp, and go to IOI.
That's really sad to hear, I hope you make your goals come true in the next year <3
Thanks!
this year was a total failure for me! Learnt something and lost everything :(
Congratulations Congratulations on Becoming Yellow!!
Your story is so inspiring and full of acheivements.
As for my 2023 goals, I had 2 main goals :
Getting a Gold Medal in the National Olympiad
Becoming an expert on codeforces
and I managed to reach both of them, although not as great as your acheivements, but I am somewhat proud of them.
Hoping to reach atleast CM and getting a rank in the National Team for 2024!
Thank you!!
I believe you definitely can do it !
I am still in doubt what I learned this year, I definitely learned but I dont how much of it is, I can still remember, recognise and apply I almost feel like it is a river, where one side I learn and the other side I forget.I dont know how much of this year I made best use of
I think you're doing it the wrong way, the goal of solving problems is to become a better thinker, if that's you're goal then you won't suffer from "forgetting" what you've already learnt, because you're not memorizing it in the first place.
IMO Isn't Basic form of learning is remembering.First one needs to remember inorder to even recognize, apply or improvise.
i wanna be pupil and gain soi medal
Just need +10 to become purple. Go for the next contest!
Upd: I did it!
Congrats!
I didn't reach any of my goals in 2023.And starting 2024 bad.I failed 6-th time.maybe I will achieve my goals this year.
In my country, I need to achieve at least legendary grandmaster to have a chance to participate in IOI. Which country are you in?
