Did not imagine my first blog to be something of this sort, but Round #819 being made unrated overnight came as a blow to many, and I feel that we need to put forward our points towards why this was obviously not the best move.
Firstly, as admitted by KAN himself, the copied problem had little impact on the overall standings. Only some 50+ people managed to solve it during the contest, with all of them having a reputable past on the platform.
Second, as user chu65536 pointed out, Round #810 had an evident amount of plagiarism, but no visible action was taken. My point is, in a div1 + div2 contest, where 10,000+ people are investing their time and brains and are oblivious to some question that was picked up from some other place, this decision is very harsh and unnecessary. Personally speaking, last night was the first time I touched specialist. After such an action, it makes one think : was it all really worth it?
In my opinion, I understand that tough decisions are needed in such situations, but those decisions must not negatively affect the community in any way.
Let’s keep it unrated for you and rated for everyone else. This too will have very little impact so according to you this will be fair?
Same here bro...I too reached specialist for the first time and this happened :'-(
though i had a thousand bad times so what's another time to me...(silent crying in the corner)
It seems that you lose your mm
"...But in the end it doesn't even matter"
Don't lose heart. I believe you will reach specialist again.
In the end, it does'nt even ma...ah..ah..atter
