Reminder that the contest starts in 10 minutes!

The Montgomery Blair HS Computer Team is excited to present the fifth edition of Montgomery Blair Informatics Tournament (mBIT), which will be held online from 1:00 PM — 4:00 PM EDT on Sunday, May 22 (05/22/22). Note that the contest is 3 hours long this year.

If you are interested in competing, please register at https://mbit-live.mbhs.edu/. All problems were written by the Montgomery Blair Computer Team, including spiralsim, czhang2718, DanTheMan., gabrielwu, j0shua, nachoz, and srzhang. Special thanks to balbit and Giantpizzahead for testing >.<

mBIT is split into two divisions: Standard and Advanced. Teams may choose which division to compete in. Standard division problems are roughly equivalent to USACO Bronze to Gold and Div 2-3 in difficulty. Advanced division problems are roughly equivalent to USACO Silver to Platinum and Div 1 in difficulty.

mBIT allows teams of up to 4 competitors! Anybody may compete, regardless of their age or country. To qualify for "high school status," all members of your team must be current high school (or middle school) students.

Prizes (per person):

  • $50, $30, $20 for the first, second, and third HS teams in Advanced

  • $40, $30, $20 for the first, second, and third overall teams in Advanced that are not among the top three HS teams

  • $20, $20 for the first HS team and first MS team in Standard

  • AoPS Coupons to the top Standard team

More information can be found on our website. Registration will remain open up until the day of the contest.

If you have any questions, feel free to email [email protected], ask in the Discord server (linked below), or comment below. We look forward to seeing you on the leaderboard!

There seems to be a one hour overlap with CodeSprint LA :(

Sorry, it was a tough to schedule around both Codeforces #793 and CodeSprint. Hopefully you can AK CodeSprint in two hours :)

Are you kidding? You have already shifted it once to avoid overlap with CodeSprint LA events and now all of the sudden you just made opposite decision to clash with CodeSprint Individual Round completely and make tough to take part in both Team contests (as there almost no break in between)? It's not OK, especially few days before the event itself, when many teams had booked that particular timeframe for that contest.

And IMHO, you should care more about conflict with CodeSprint LA than with CF round because the audience of those two will be more likely the same as they are similar in many respects (seasonal, team-oriented, prizes). Also, it's "one in a year occasion" when CF rounds (especially div2) are happening almost every week.

Boo hoo, contest organizers can schedule whenever they want and do not need to worry if is OK according to you. I'm pretty sure mbit scheduled first and others scheduled overlapping on them, so be happy they are willing to accommodate at all to attempt to allow others to compete in as much as possible.
