Hi everyone!

I’m a second-year university student, and I want to start taking ICPC preparation more seriously. My goal is quite ambitious — I’d really like to get a medal at ICPC.

Right now, I have some pretty big gaps in mathematics, especially in geometry, algebra, and combinatorics. Dynamic programming is also quite difficult for me. Another thing I struggle with is coming up with good ideas for problems on my own.

So I’d really appreciate some advice from more experienced contestants. What books, courses, or other resources would you recommend for these topics? Both Russian and English resources are welcome.

I’m especially looking for materials on:

— mathematics for competitive programming;

— geometry, algebra, and combinatorics;

— dynamic programming;

— developing problem-solving skills and learning how to come up with ideas.

I’d also be really happy if you could recommend some interesting problems. Feel free to share problems that you personally enjoyed or found useful. I’ll add the most interesting ones to this blog and try to solve them over time.
