I've decided to start taking life seriously. First order of business: Get really good at solving problems.

How does one get good at solving problems?

I think you can go about it in a lot of different ways, but the way in which I'm going about it is competitive programming.

I chose this route as it will work as a lever to improve the areas which I see as most valuable for my future: These are also the areas which I neglected most over the course of highschool to first half of college...

• Programming, specifically in C++
• Mathematical ability
• Critical thinking ability / reasoning

These skills are also valuable when starting a business (or so I've heard), which I intend to do. Ideally a supercomputer company... but I'll have to come back to this post in a few years and see how it's going.

I'm a 20yr old university student, I switched majors from accounting & finance to computer engineering last year. So I have a lot of catch-up work/courses to get done and I'll likely have to stay a semester or two past my expected graduation date (May 2028), hopefully it's all worth it in the end.
